5 Stars Excellent Acquisition RS 800 is really a complete device offering all the important information during and after training. It is really better than I expect. It is possible to have information of pace, distance, calories, etc. You can keep data on memory and can go back and verify how was your training in the previous day or week.

I really enjoyed the product.

4 Stars Very Satisfied I have this product for three weeks now and I am still using mostly the heart rate monitor function alone. Last week only I synced it with my laptop and transfered all the workout information. It took me a while to connect to laptop but the transfer was seemless. I would recommend this product if you are seriously planning to work on a training schedule otherwise this is way expensive for any other purpose.

4 Stars RS 800 So far a good product both on and off of the treadmill. I run about 30-50 miles per week. I enjoy using this product and I have had no problems with the recording of my exercises. The program is very similar to old polar programs and it was easy to start using the program from my previous polar watch. I do have one button that does not work well it is the light button. Not sure if I will send it back to have this fixed or not, but a little annoyed that I enjoy the product but have this glich that should not be there.

1 Star Don't waste your money This is one of the worst products I have purchased in the last 5 years. The one I bought never worked properly. The heart monitor would not pick up, the stride-pod never could be properly calibrated, the watch could never seem to connect with the computer and when it did the software was defective because it would not let you adjust the downloaded workouts to fix errors in distance recorded by the defective stride-pod. On top of everything else, the thing eats batteries like they were candy. I finally gave up and just tried to use it as a $400 stopwatch. Putting in a new battery for the fourth time in less than a year, I got a "error" with a code 169 on it. The Polar site user site says to send it in for service. I'm going to send it to the trash can instead. This is an expensive piece of junk. Save your money and buy something else

2 Stars I love polar – just too many problems with this one Polar heart rate monitors have helped keep me in shape (and get me back in shape when I fall behind). I like the data this product collects, but the battery dies too quickly and the IRDA/Vista problem is just too much to rate this product highly. IRDA works fine with XP, but once I went to Vista, I found myself fighting with the watch to transfer the data. It never seemed to transfer on the first try (shutting down the program, restarting – even restarting the machine was required). I have a great computer (so that's not the problem) – just Vista…

Also, whenever I left data in the watch too long, the battery died. Also, the Stride Sensor (W.I.N.D.) also had battery problems — it should last much longer than it does.

So, I will have to get back in the market for another product (I just wish that, for the price, I had purchased a HRM that would last longer for me).

4 Stars heart monitor
I like it. I haven’t had a chance to figure out all the features yet, but I’m not sure if I’ll need to use all of them anyway. It’s been pretty easy to use so far. The only compaint is that the band that goes around the chest rubs on my skin and I’ve gotten a little chaffing. But I have pretty sensitive skin, so it’s probably more to do with me than the actual product.

1 Star Terrible customer service
I bought this heart monitor on the recomendation of a friend who has one. Unfortunately the company (Joma) did not allow for a size selection. They sent a M which would not fit me. I called the customer service number to try and exchange it for a larger size. It took 25 min to get through only to be told that was “the only one we had”. I then asked how to go about returning it, and was told I had to print out a form and mail it in for a “return code”. However they only allow returns 30 days from when they shipped it to me, and since they took 3 weeks to get it here, and a week to respond to my email so that time is gone now. I would strongly recommend trying a different vendor of the item. Which looks like it would work great…if only it was my size.

5 Stars Awesome HRM
I purchased this HRM 1 month ago and I just love it. This is my first one ever. I learned about it from someone in my spinning class that said, don’t bother messing with the $50-$60 varieties. This was her 3rd HRM and she urged me to just spring for the Polar $100 and I would be much happier. I am!!! I find it pretty easy to learn and navigate my way around. I do boot camp every MWF and found another person in class that also recently purchased the same watch. We compared calories burned and they were pretty close. I find this to be more reliable in telling me calories burned verses what the gym equipment tells me. i.e. I use the eliptical at the gym and my HRM shows I burned 150 calories when the machine says 220. I feel that based on my HR, age and weight, it gives me a more accurate account. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a good reliable HRM.

4 Stars Excellent Product – Even if you’re sasquatch!
I have been very, very pleased with this product so far, after having been using it 3-4 times a week since December ’08 and 5-6 times a week since March ’09. It has performed extremely well even with my (sorry to say) very hairy chest.

If I could have given it 4.5 stars I would have, but the fact that you have to send it away to get the battery changed is sort of hassle. Overall, though, I highly recommend this. Very, very happy with it.

4 Stars Polar F6 – good heart rate monitor, but….
I like the Polar F6 heart rate monitor, but, it is a little uncomfortable for me. For women who wear an underwire bra, it is not very easy to wear. Because of the underwire, I have a hard time getting it in the right position, and when I do, it cuts into me because of the bra. I wish there was another place to wear it, or if they could come up with an alternative heart rate monitor design.

3 Stars Defective
Nice watch, easy to use.

However the weight training part is very limited and has not enough exercises.

Plus the web link is only good with pc and cannot be used with a mac.

Mine started getting the inside of the glass foggy after showering about 4 months after buying it.

It then stopped working 5 months later.

I will make the claim and see how the guarantee works.

Depending on the result my rating may dramatically change.

this is an great watch but takes some time to figure out all the functions. It is great for daily workouts.

3 Stars Good monitor, poor case!
(Note: The item being reviewed is the “Bronze Rock” version. I have been using this product for slightly over a year.)

This is a very good and full-featured heartrate monitor, and has been great for helping me tailor my workouts and track my overall performance. However, it has NOT held up well when worn as an everyday watch. I only had mine for a few weeks when I bumped it against something and the chrome bezel that surrounds the watch face broke in half and scratched the face. Having invested this much, I was very disappointed. However, I mailed it to Polar (at my expense) and fortunately they replaced the crystal (which is NOT glass and feels like polycarbonate plastic) and the bezel.

I was again pleased for a while until a few more months went by. I had been VERY careful when wearing my watch/monitor and tried to remove it when I thought it might be in “danger”. However, I managed to once again scratch the face… while putting up my Christmas tree! Since then, the chrome bezel has been bumped a time or two in the course of normal exercise (mainly cycling and weight lifting) and the chrome is now coming off. It is NOT an aluminum bezel, but “chromed plastic”.

For the price of this watch, I think they could have used a REAL crystal face and an aluminum bezel, which would have significantly increased the durability and value of this watch/monitor without sacrificing much in terms of weight or production costs.

Edit: I also agree with the previous review by “Rene Briceno” with regard to the weaknesses of the fitness monitor product. If you are a SERIOUS weight lifter, you will quickly outgrow the workouts included on this watch. That said, I have had no problems with it from a functionality standpoint and do consult it regularly for tracking my performance.

1 Star All that hard work and can’t use it.
I’ve owned my F55 for about a year now and have been happy using it as an aid to keep me in the zone for my runs.. but that is about all this Polar unit is good for. If you start to advance and want to get all the hard earned data out of this device your stuck with Polar’s anemic PolarPersonalTrainer web site.. It is NOT supported by the overly expensive ProTrainer5 software and to add insult to injury you cannot create .HRM files to import into more advanced training software (i.e. Training peaks, etc). The other problem I’ve had with this HRM is the band; it’s difficult to put on and take off and doesn’t have the ability to be replaced with a quick Velcro band.. All in all after a year of using this HRM and not being able to access my data I’ve finally given up on Polar, I’m going to move on to Garmin or Suunto. (Yes I’m willing to pay more to have a well engineered “solution” over pretty websites and fancy marketing buzz words.)

Works faster and better than previous models but still very complicated to use. I have it up and running but only the basics. You still need a PHD to run the more advanced program. So far so good. The strap adjusts fine. Good quality.

5 Stars reivew of Polar FS2 Heart rate monitor
I had the old model of this model and it lasted me over 5 years. Based on that, and the other reviews I read about this model, I decided to try the FS2. It is great!! It is a very good basic heart rate monitor. No bells and whistles, but I was looking for simple. I highly recommend reading through the manual, which is very short. It will give you some great tips so you can utilize the few features it does have, such as min/max heart rate limits, etc. All and all, a great buy. I’ve only had it a couple of months, so I don’t know about the battery life. Hopefully it will perform as well as the old one did!

5 Stars First Rate Heart Rate…
This is the second one i have purchased. I am deployed in Afghanistan and it works with all the gym equipment here.

Bang for the buck it is a great unit.

Takes a little getting used to, but once I understood the functions, it works great. Keeps me from exceeding HR objectives, both for me and my clients.

This is a great product, I use it at the gym because the tredmill is compatable to it so I don’t have to wear the watch. When I run outside I wear it and I don’t have a problem with it. One thing that bothers me is the directions on the watch, it took a while to understand but I got it down to a science now. all in all it’s great, it does what it’s supose to do.

Immediately, I received a prepaid shipping label to return the defective item. Within three days, I received a replacement, faster than I thought possible. The replacement works PERFECTLY.

I’m happy with RS800 but very disappointed with Watchsavings – the amazon’s partner.

I live in Brazil and I’ve received my order at a friend’s address in USA. He took it to me and I have a problem: I bought a “1 of Polar RS800G3 Bundle ( Includes S3 Stride Sensor), G3 GPS Sensor, Free IRDA” (order # 104-7005327-9628241) and the S3 Stride does not came in the box. I’ve just received the RS800, the GPS Sensor and the IRDA. I need to know what happened. I sent an e-mail to Watchsavings 2 weeks ago and they didn’t answered me. I’m waiting an answer from AMAZON.COM. Tks, HUGO

2 Stars Too complicated, and no English quickstart instructions
Bought for my wife’s birthday. She’s very technical (has MBA and MS/CS degrees), and as an endurance athlete she’s become very familiar with Polar and Garmin HRMs and GPS devices over the years – has a Garmin 305, an eTrex Vista, a Brunton GPS, etc.

Well, this device stumped her – she worked with it for an hour and couldn’t get the GPS part to sync with the display … maybe because the quickstart instructions were all in French?

She worked through all the menus and decided that even if she *could* get the thing to function, it was going to be unworkable while riding. And, as delivered it doesn’t have everything it needs for connecting to a computer (that’s optional). So, we returned it.

Great product. Too bad there is no real marketing to get it out to the public. This is a great training product that can be introduced to the teenagers early on to give them a better training awarness. The transaction went smooth and I was very pleased with the way Amazon brought this together.

5 Stars great watch
I’ve had my watch for about a month now and I love it. I had a little trouble getting my personal sport zones in it because this is my first watch but my trainer was able to do it without a problem. In fact, the trainer liked it so much that the gym is now planning to sell this watch. The rest of the set up was very easy. I love that I can personalize it to display the info that I want to keep track of during my workout. I would definately recommend this watch.

5 Stars A lot of information, but not complicated
This watch is working very well for me. I really like looking at my statistics after a workout. There is a lot of information available through this watch, but it is not complicated to understand or navigate. I wish that Polar offered a female-sized version of this watch; it’s a bit chunky for a female wrist.

1 Star RS200 is Fine – Avoid the Footpod
I’ve found that the watch and heart rate strap works well although you’ll struggle with the learning curve and the extremely poor manual. At all costs, avoid the foot pod. I bought this to track my pace while running and found it was initially very inaccurate (off by 25% or more) and after a few runs it stopped working altogether.

Top left button is useless. Should illuminate. Never worked.

GUI. aka Interface is all over the place. You get to a section and it wont let you back out. Mine has been stuck in stopwatch mode for a week now. It has taken 48 separate time splits without my asking it to.

I hate my watch. Im ready to throw it out if it wasnt so dam expensive. Thanks for nothing Polar.
