3 Stars Great computer after you get it working This is a great little computer after you get it working. I purchased one last year; it worked for a little while, then stopped. I called/e-mailed Planet Bike and after I got on them for a while they sent me a new one. Installing the new one was a real pain- it was hard to get the magnet and the sensor close enough together to work without having them rub. Finally figured it out (again)- hopefully it will work this time! On the plus side, after installation, the computer has an easy to read display; displays all the information you need (no need to toggle between screens). The thermometer is a great feature and its nice that it is wireless. My only concern is that bumps etc. will move the sensor causing it not to read- I would like to find a more secure way to keep the sensor in place rather than the ties they give you- I think that may have been the downfall of the last one.

2 Stars worked well for a while, and then it got hot and humid I used this cyclocomputer through the spring, with great success. but as soon as the weather turned hotter, and more humid. the thing was awful. it resets itself all the time, even when i simply detach it from the handlebar mount. I have reset it more often over the last 4 weeks, than i have used it. sometimes, I have to reset it 3 or 4 times before i give up and go without. I am going to go back to the cateye's. i hope it works better.

5 Stars Planet Bike Wireless COmputer Got the Planet Bike Wireless Computer to replaced an old Cateye Wired unit. Looked at everything I could find, Cateye to Garmin. I decided that cheaper with all the functions I wanted was the best way to go for now. Wanted the Garmin, but still to many bad reviews for that amount of money. The computer was simple to install, mount the sensor on the front fork, attach the magnet on the spoke, mount the computer to handle bars and you are almost ready to go. The sensor has a rubber pad and 2 tiewraps to hold it in place. It's a street bike and not a mountain so I not concerned about using their tiewraps. The magnet is simple enough to line up, but the instruction could have been shown a better picture (I had to move it once to get the correct spot). The handle bar mounting works much like their lights, add the rubber spacers and your done. The computer adjustment for tire size, time, etc. is done with the little buttons and steel ball on the back on the unit. I did mine before putting it in the holder. Again the instructions didn't seem to clear about pressing the little steel ball, but once I figured that out it was simple. You can use it on two bikes. They say to press hard to pop it out of the mount. I didn't want to remove it, but pressed hard just see and it didn't move. So it's not going to fall out of the mount! The sensor and computer use the same battery, they say are good for 6 months or more. The computer falls into a sleep mode after nonuse. You press forward on the computer to change screens and see the additonal info. The main screen digits are good size, you get MPH, Riding Time, Trip Distance, Clock and Temp. Elite was out of stock after I ordered and had to call them to finally get an answer. They offered a Cateye unit if I didn't want to wait, but I had seen the unit and thought the Planet Bike had a better display. I was right, glad I waited, the price went up $20 after I got mine.

1 Star Awful Product A terrible product. Poor instructions, with even poorer illustrations. Sensor and magnet don't work well together–sometimes it registers movement, sometimes not. Computer mode/set functions faulty. Avoid it at all costs.

4 Stars Excellent bike computer for basic information The Cateye Strada Wireless has performed flawlessly for our 4-per-week bike rides. Simple to reset (just hold the button down for a few seconds), easy to read, and easy to remove, I highly recommend this computer for bike enthusiasts who ride for fun, whether fast or slow. For those who are training for maximum improvement or for competition, you'll want to purchase a unit with cadence, and maybe even a heart-rate function. But if you only log in miles and speed, the Strada is great choice. And wireless is so convenient to install, with no ugly wires ruining the bike graphics. I've never had an issue with losing signal. The instructions say not to park the bike with the magnet next to the pickup unit, or else your battery may drain rapidly; so you do need to spend 5 extra seconds to rotate your front tire when parking the bike. But I've logged a few thousand miles on all of my Cateye products before needing to change the battery.
I also own Cateye's V2c model, because I analyze my training regularly, and I rely upon cadence data as well as average speed. But I paid more for this feature, and the V2c graphics are smaller and a little harder for me to read.
As far as longevity, I have another Cateye computer on a vintage 12-speed; I've had to replace the battery several times, but the unit performs just as it did when I installed it 25 years ago. This is the reason I trust Cateye; although a company product's reliability may change over the years, usually the change is for the better. Until I have issues with their products, I will continue to buy from Cateye, as long as the features are competitive with other brands.

4 Stars Good Cyclocomputer This is a good dependable cyclocomputer. I found it easy to install and set up for use. The wireless feature is great and works well. It is reset by pressing on the bottom of the unit when it is mounted. Mine requires only about 1 1/2 seconds to reset and I accidently reset it twice while riding as the same motion is required to scroll between the functions. It can also be reset by pushing on the bottom of the top of the unit. Now that I am aware it is not a problem. It is nice looking and the mounting system allowed it to mount easily on my aerobar. It is a good value at a good price and provides enough functions for my needs.

4 Stars Ease to install I have 3 wireless cateye products, two like this one and another with the cadence for my training bike. I like the product very much. It is better than the trek ones. With a trek it seems that you have a TV screen on your handlebar or stem. Cateye is maybe a bit little but its performance is pure quality. Very ease to set up and go. Of course the prize is right, especially if you get it from Amazon.com. Enjoy your ride. PB

This product is great! I’ve been using it for a while and the simplicity of clicking the computer forward to view the different modes is ingenious. After all, you can’t be messing with buttons when your riding at 18-30 mph. The numbers are big, so its very easy to see the information. Overall, I am very happy with this item.

5 Stars BikePlanet Wireless Computer
So far, this is an outstanding product from an outstanding company. I have several of their products and Bike Planet really knows what they are doing. This computer is fairly small for being wireless and it installs quite easily. I have been using it rigorously and I have had no problems with it as of yet. As far as the issue when it shuts off because of rain, I have not encountered that. Overall, I love this product and would hands down recommend it to anyone looking for a wireless cycling computer.

5 Stars Exceeds Expectations
This is a great computer, much better than my old Cateye. It was easy to install and calibrate. The directions were clear and setup took about 20 minutes. I have a 29′er mtb so I used the wheel roll-out method to calibrate the computer. I love having a wireless computer. It looks great, much cleaner, and it works beautifully. I’ve not had any problems. Plus, the 4-line display is easy to read and helpful. I like being able to see a lot of data with just a glance. And the thermometer is a great idea. Mine is accurate.

I spent a lot of time studying bike computers before this purchase – to the point where I was driving my wife crazy. She was glad when I finally settled on the wireless Protege 9.0 because she wouldn’t hear the running dialogue any longer and I’m glad I chose this Planet Bike product because it works well. I’m becoming a believer in Planet Bike products, so I also bought a saddle and flashing light called the Superflash. I bought the men’s 5020 split seat saddle and have found it to be much more comfy than the small Bontrager seat that came with the bike (a Gary Fisher 29′er). Keep up the good work Planet Bike!

1 Star OK for fair weather cyclest
If your a fair weather cyclist this computer is OK. But if you bike in the winter it’s a total P.O.S. The computer will not work below 40 degrees F. Which is very annoying. The 4 line display is nice but when the temperature display reads about 40 degrees the computer becomes totally useless.

Overall a pretty nice, simple little computer. Be warned that it will not look like the picture. The current design doesn’t look as nice and the button is mounted on the top instead of the side. I can’t really complain though, the price was good and it functions really well. The directions could be clearer I guess, but it’s worth the money. Clocking up the miles on the odometer is nice motivation to keep going!

Can’t complain about this odometer for the price. Easy to install even for a girl. Nice big readout. One problem which I won’t blame on the item, if you wear glasses with poloroid feature, it makes a rainbow affect on the display screen that makes viewing the bottom half of the screen difficult.

Functions as a odometer, speedometer, trip meter and clock. It also shows maximum speed. In other words, all the basic functions you need.

The device works by counting the number of times a magnet attached to a spoke of the wheel passes a probe. This is converted into speed and distance with the aid of the diameter of the wheel. The diameter can be specified in centimeters.

Instructions were a little stretchy. It took me a while to figure out how to change the mode from km/h to mph and set the diameter of the wheels. A helpful chart is provided in the instruction to convert the specification of your bike tire to centimeter.

Once the device was installed and programmed, everything worked as expected.
